What is the Dalesrun?2009 Pateley Bridge

The Dalesrun is a fund raising weekend event held each year on the second weekend in June. The weekend follows the same pattern of events each year, although small improvements and tweaks are made each year to improve the enjoyability and fundraising power of the event.

The main points of the weekend are:

  • Friday night fish & chip supper and meet and greet
  • Saturday run through the glorious scenery of the Yorkshire Dales and Cumbria with a lunchtime stop (approx 80-100miles)
  • Saturday evening BBQ – bring your own meat we do the rest!
  • Saturday entertainment – This centers around the now infamous horse racing with Alan in charge, quizzes, Western fancy dress and Cartoon characters competitions and bingo
  • New this year – the entertainment will be held at the village hall, ensuring no mozzies!
  • Sunday is concours and auto-gymkhana day.* This is a nice relaxing day where everyone can recover from Saturdays entertainment, polish their car and partake in a challenging auto-gymkhana
* Campsite conditions and weather may mean that this is changed to a short run to a local attraction to avoid causing un-neccesary damage to the camping grounds.

Who can enter

The Dalesrun was originaly open to members of the TSSC. We now welcome any classic car* and don’t worry if your car is off the road, there are usually 4 or 5 euro-boxes on the run. The aim of the weekend is to have a laugh and enjoy yourself and meet new people as well as raising money for a deserving charity!

*Please note that the majority of the cars are Triumphs from the 60′s and 70′s. If your car cannot keep up to these cars in normal driving, we may ask you to start early or take a more direct route on the Saturday run to ensure that the timetable is kept for the lunchtime stop.
